“The Biggest And The Best”
Most of the time the difference between lush, green grass and a lawn that’s withering and brown, is a top-quality turf aerator. When Murray Osborne came to QTurf Machinery, he was looking for an aerator that would maximise his turf’s growth and keep his grass looking green and beautiful, all year round.
As the owner of Australian Soil & Fertilizer, Murray had a fair idea about what sort of aerator he needed for his lawn. But when he came across the QTurf Machinery website, he saw that we had a wide range of choices. So, he gave us a call asking for advice.
And if there’s one thing we know how to do, it’s give advice on turf machinery!
Making the right decision.
When it comes to large-scale machinery, you want to make sure you’re making the right decision. There’s nothing worse than going out and buying a product, then getting home and realising it isn’t the right tool for the job. For example, buying an aerator only to find out it has a working depth of 150mm, when your turf requires 250mm. Or that it’s not compatible with your tractor.
While these might seem like obvious things that groundsmen would know to look out for, with so many considerations to think about (price, brand, quality, etc.) it can be easy to get caught up and forget to check that the finer details all match.
That’s why, at QTurf Machinery, we take the time to learn about your specific situation and requirements, and make sure you have the most suitable piece of machinery for your needs (and your turf).
A strong, sturdy choice.
In Murray’s case, it was the durability of the machinery that he was most concerned with. Turf aeration can be a rough job, particularly if you’re working on a lawn that needs a solid amount of TLC. So the strength of your aerator is an important deciding factor.
We walked Murray through our range of turf aerators, providing suggestions and advice on the best and sturdiest choices. With the right amount of product knowledge behind him, Murray felt confident in his decision to go with the Wiedenmann Terra Spike XP8. And it hasn’t let him down so far.
“It’s the biggest and best piece of machinery… As tough as goat’s meat!”
The XP8 was specifically designed for high area coverage, to be used on large-scale grounds such as farms, sporting fields and golfing greens. It has robust tine holders with largely dimensioned bearings and integrated grease reservoirs, especially built to withstand extreme conditions.
The XP8’s strong design and easy-to-use functionality has allowed Murray to aerate his turf quickly, efficiently and without any hassles. He says he would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tough aerator for their lawn.
“I’m thinking about buying a few things later on in the year, which I’ll definitely be going back to Terry at QTurf for.”
